H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, led a delegation of Thai businesspeople to Peru under Latin Link 2024 Project.

On 9 August 2024 H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, led a delegation of Thai businesspeople to Peru under Latin Link 2024 Project. The initiative aims at enhancing trade and investment opportunities in Latin America for Thai private sectors, matching them with potential partners in the region.

During the visit, the Vice Minister and the delegation discussed with Mr. Augusto Bauer, Deputy CEO of AJE Group, a Peruvian beverage company with business in Thailand, producing "Big Cola" for Thailand. The delegation was briefed about AJE Group's distribution, as well as the company's vision in sustainability and environmental protection. In addition, on the same day, the Vice Minister delivered an opening remarks at a high-table seminar organized by Association of Exporters of Peru (ADEX), building networks between Thailand and Peru's private sectors. Ms. Teresa Mera, Vice Minister of Foreign Trade of Peru, was also in attendance.

Peru is the 6th largest trading partner of Thailand in Latin America. It is also one of the two Latin American countries with whom Thailand has a free trade agreement. The Thailand-Peru Free Trade Agreement currently covers 70 percent of goods in the two countries' bilateral trade.
