Larson Statement on Former Senator Joe Lieberman’s National Memorial Service

Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement after former United States Senator Joe Lieberman's national memorial service in Washington, D.C.

"Today, we memorialized Joe Lieberman's public service, as former Majority Leader of the Connecticut State Senate, Attorney General of the State of Connecticut, United States Senator, and the Democratic nominee for Vice President," said Larson. "I was proud to work alongside him throughout his public career. What a tribute by his colleagues, including Vice President Gore, Senators Susan Collins and Lindsey Graham, as well as his Chief of Staff Clarine Nardi Riddle and his wife, Hadassah. Our hearts go out to Hadassah and the Lieberman family who concluded the ceremony with the family leading the entire gathering in 'God Bless America,' so fitting for Joe Lieberman and his lifetime of public service."
