Serbia has zero tolerance for terrorism, any kind of extremism

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today that the attack on a member of the Gendarmerie, who was securing the Embassy of the State of Israel in Belgrade, is simultaneously an attack on the diplomatic-consular office of a country with which Serbia maintains friendly relations, as well as an attack on our country.

Serbia will have zero tolerance for terrorism and any kind of extremism and will continue to guarantee the inviolability of foreign missions, as it has so far, in accordance with Article 22 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

We are confident that our competent state authorities will efficiently and thoroughly clarify the circumstances and motives of the attack.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia is in communication with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel and the diplomats of that country in Belgrade, to whom it will provide all necessary assistance and support.
