CABEI promotes sustainable mobility and road safety in El Salvador

San Salvador, October 16, 2024. Reaffirming its commitment to the sustainable development of its member countries, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) joined the V Ibero-American Congress on Mobility and Road Safety to disseminate, promote, and encourage good practices and experiences related to road safety and safe and sustainable mobility in the country.

More than 200 people, including researchers, business owners, public officers, and international organizations, gathered to share experiences and expert knowledge on road safety and mobility, with the objective of making recommendations for the development of public policies on these issues.

With this Congress, the organization, Mobility and Road Safety El Salvador (MOVES), opens spaces for reflection, by promoting collaboration among a diversity of key actors to make advances towards comprehensive solutions. It also raises awareness about the importance of safe mobility, which seeks to significantly reduce road accidents, optimize the travel experience and road infrastructure, protect the environment, and improve people's quality of life.

During the event, panels with national and international experts addressed topics such as strategic planning for sustainable cities, transforming transportation for greater sustainability, road accident prevention, the importance of safe road infrastructure, and the challenges leading up to 2030.
