A series of underground boring and probes will begin on Aug. 12 to survey and inspect underground soil and rock conditions as part of the Central Utilities Initiative. The geotech work will take place daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for five to seven days.
Sampling along 25th Avenue South near the Kensington Promenade (A-1 and A-2) and the Student Life Center circle (A-3, A-4, and A-5) will cause temporary roadway closures:
The remainder of the boring work will be on campus (see map for exact locations).
The noise generated by this work is expected to be minimal, and no vibrations should be felt in the surrounding areas.
25th Avenue South between Highland Avenue and Children's Way will remain closed.
All pedestrian and vehicle routes are subject to change. Updates will be shared in MyVU and on the Facilities Instagramand Twitteraccounts.
