Secretary-General of ASEAN to participate in the 28th ASEAN Labour Ministers’ Meeting in Singapore

At the invitation of H.E. Dr. Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower of the Republic of Singapore, Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn will lead the ASEAN Secretariat's delegation to participate in the 28^th ASEAN Labour Ministers' Meeting (ALMM) and the 13^th ALMM Plus Three under the theme "Strengthening Resilience and Promoting Innovation," scheduled to be held in Singapore, on 30-31 October 2024. Dr. Kao will deliver opening remarks and update the meetings on key labour-related decisions of the ASEAN Summits and other relevant ASEAN meetings. During his stay in Singapore, Dr. Kao will also engage in bilateral meetings with Dr. Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower of Singapore and the ALMM Chair in 2024-2026, as well as with Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma of the Philippines' Department of Labor and Employment. The upcoming 28^th ALMM will mark an important milestone in the journey of ALMM as it would be the 50^th year since the ALMM first met in 1975, and that it has served as the hub for regional collaboration to enhance the well-being and competitiveness of our workforce.
