From November 18-26, the City of Burbank will conduct a Residential Route Review of trash bins as required by California Senate Bill 1383.
This law mandates annual waste audits to help reduce contamination by ensuring recyclables and organic waste are sorted properly. No additional steps are required from residents. Inspections will take place at random along regularly scheduled refuse pickup routes. During this review, items will not be removed from containers-authorized staff will only perform a visual inspection of the contents. Households will receive a cart hanger or label with feedback on proper recycling, helping everyone improve waste sorting practices.
These inspections, managed by Go2Zero, supports the city's commitment to reducing waste and protecting the environment. For more information, visit the Public Works Recycling Page on the City's website, or contact: [email protected] or by phone: 818-238-3900.
