Investigation into Fatal Crash at 15901 Gulf Freeway

September 3, 2024- Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 15901 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) service road about 10:15 p.m. on Saturday (August 31).

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant Y. Ramirez and Officer D. Thompson reported:

The male was on a bicycle and traveling northbound on the service road near the above address when he was struck by a vehicle of unknown make or model also traveling northbound on the service road. The vehicle did not stop to provide assistance and fled in an unknown direction. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.

A witness stated the suspect vehicle may be a Jeep Wrangler.
