Congressman Ben Cline Makes National Shooting Sports Foundation’s “Dean’s List,” Receives A+ Rating on Second Amendment

Congressman Ben Cline (VA-06) released a statement after being named to the National Shooting Sports Foundation's "Dean's List". Congressman Cline is one of only 24 members of the House of Representatives to be placed on the "Dean's List," which recognizes lawmakers who have gone above and beyond the A+ rating to protect Second Amendment rights

"I'm grateful to receive this recognition from the National Shooting Sports Foundation," said Congressman Ben Cline. "Law-abiding citizens should never be punished for exercising their Second Amendment rights. I proudly stand with the people of Virginia's Sixth District and will continue my fight in Congress to defend our Constitution."

NSSF graded each House Member on a combination of key votes (Roll Call Votes 252, 407, and 639 in the 1st Session of the 118th Congress and Roll Call Votes 167 in the 2nd Session of the 118th Congress), co-sponsorship of NSSF-supported legislation (H.R.53, H.R.2620, H.R.2743, H.R.7042, H.R.7195, H.R.7450, H.R.8066, H.R.9260, H.J.Res.144, and H.J.Res.164), non-co-sponsorship of NSSF-opposed legislation (H.R.625, H.R.698, H.R.816, H.R.1478, H.R.2403, H.R.2870, H.R.4184, H.R.4202, H.R.5135, H.R.6172, H.R.7352, and H.R.8764), as well as leadership on industry-related issues, public statements, committee activity, floor statements, letters led and signed supporting a key issue, etc.

Grades are meant to analyze each lawmaker's level of support for firearm industry priority legislation during the 118th Congress, including defending the firearm industry's ability to engage in the lawful commerce of firearms and ammunition, protecting customers' Second Amendment rights, and promoting hunting and recreational target shooting.

Congressman Ben Cline represents the Sixth Congressional District of Virginia. He previously was an attorney in private practice and served both as an assistant prosecutor and a Member of the Virginia House of Delegates. Cline and his wife, Elizabeth, live in Botetourt County with their two children.
