Knife River Corporation Provides Update On New South Washington Detour

Dear Residents,

We would like to inform you of upcoming traffic pattern changes that will impact the area around the South Washington St. and Burleigh Ave. project.

With the progression of the project nearing completion north of Burleigh Ave., the project will begin work on the south half of the roundabout area. This will require a new detour to be put into place. While Washington St. north of Burleigh Ave. will continue the current southbound only traffic pattern, starting Friday (10/04/2024) Washington St. will be closed from directly south of Burleigh Ave. to Nina Ln.

We ask that area residents and the traveling public utilize the signed detour route, this route will be turning off of Nina Ln. to go south on Washington St., turning east onto 48th Ave. SE and finally north onto South 12th St. which will tie into our current northbound detour. We also ask that all travelers watch for upcoming changes as traffic will transition from the temporary roads to the new concrete pavement.

It is currently expected that this detour will be in place for approximately 3 weeks.
