Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6700 East Sam Houston Parkway South

November 12, 2024- Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6700 East Sam Houston Parkway South (Beltway 8 South) service road about 4:25 a.m. last Friday (November 9).

The deceased woman is identified as Victoria Frias, 25.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer M. Keita reported:

According to witnesses, Ms. Frias was walking northeast on the Beltway 8 service road and talking on her phone when she was struck by a blue Chevrolet Corvette traveling northeast on the service road. The driver of the Corvette stopped and remained at the scene.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Firas deceased.

The driver, 53, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
