Indonesian Crime Thriller Film ‘Borderless Fog’ Now Streaming on Netflix

Netflix's latest Indonesian original film, Borderless Fog, from the acclaimed director Edwin, is now streaming. Produced with Palari Films, the gripping crime thriller chronicles the journey of a big-city detective investigating a series of gruesome murders along the Indonesia-Malaysia border, which eventually forces her to confront ghosts from her past. Award-winning actress Putri Marino stars as Sanja, the detective determined to uncover the truth behind the eerie events. From director Edwin, Borderless Fogsees the award-winning filmmaker branch out into the crime-investigative thriller genre. In recent years, Edwin won the Golden Leopard at the 2021 Locarno Film Festival and was named Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay at the 2022 Indonesian Film Festival for the film Vengeance is Mine, All Others Pay Cash. "I am interested in the stories, culture and lives of the people along the border. The film features the point of view of someone who's lived his whole life in Jakarta or Java, who learned a lot about Indonesia through the lens of the borderlands. That's why I chose to shoot the film in Kalimantan," said Edwin. The film also stars Yoga Pratama, Lukman Sardi, Yudi Ahmad Tajudin, Yusuf Mahardika, Iedil Dzuhrie Alaudin, Kiki Narendra, Siti Fauziah and Sita Nursanti.
