The Metro Nashville Office of Homeless Services (OHS), in collaboration with other Metro departments, is preparing for a week of low temperatures. Emergency shelters will be activated based on weather conditions with decisions made daily by noon.
"Caring for Nashvillians needing shelter during cold weather requires the help of so many organizations who do excellent work in our city," Mayor Freddie O'Connell said. "I'm grateful for the public's help each year in volunteering at WeGo Central to greet and direct people seeking shelter, and we need your help once again. Our Office of Homeless Services does an excellent job reaching those in need to connect them with resources."
Homeless Services Director April Calvin said, "The Office of Homeless Services is dedicated to providing this essential service to our unsheltered Nashville neighbors. We will use this life-saving opportunity to impact life-changing housing solutions for individuals seeking shelter by utilizing our local database to connect people to local resources."
