PennDOT to Change Traffic Pattern at I-80 Project in Centre County

07/22/2024

Clearfield, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced it will change the traffic pattern at the site of its Interstate 80 bridge replacements project between mile markers 165 and 166 in Centre County on Friday, July 26. This project consists of roadway improvements to improve the ride quality of Interstate 80, Route 1010 (Huber Ridge Road) and Sand Ridge Road while also replacing the four bridges spanning Huber Ridge and Sand Ridge roads to improve their overall condition rating.

The left (passing) lanes in each direction were closed early in March. On Friday, July 26, the contractor will close the right (travel) lane in each direction. PennDOT urges drivers traveling this span of I-80 to expect delays while the contractor makes this transition on Friday. Pennsylvania State Police will be on site to assist with the traffic switch.

Overall work on this project consists of concrete and asphalt paving on Interstate 80, Hubler Ridge, and Sand Ridge roads, milling and paving, drainage improvements, guide rail installation, pavement marking, and miscellaneous construction. Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College, PA, is the contractor for this $22 million project that will continue through the 2026 construction season.
