State Police arrest Watertown man for Sexual Offenses

On September 4, 2024, State Police arrested Tyler J. Griffin, age 22, from Watertown, NY, for Rape. The Jefferson County Court issued a sealed indictment warrant subsequent to Grand Jury proceedings.

Griffin is charged with:

Two Counts of Predatory Sexual of a Child (class "A" Felony)

Four Counts of Rape 1st Degree (class "B" Felony)

Two Counts of Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree (class "A" Misdemeanor)

Two Counts of Rape 2nd Degree (class "D" Felony)

Three Counts of Criminal Sexual Act 2nd Degree (class "D" Felony)

Griffin was arraigned by Judge Neddo and remanded to the Jefferson County Public Safety Building without bail.

On October 6, 2022, a parent of a 12-year-old female reported to State Police text messages indicating a relationship between their daughter and 20-year-old Griffin. Further investigation revealed a sexual relationship between the two in the town of Ellisburg.
