If you've already registered to attend Greenbuild 2024 in Philadelphia from Nov. 12 to 15, you'll be packing your bags in just a few days. Over the past few months, USGBC has shared articles to help you get the most out of your Greenbuild experience: choosing sessions, visiting the USGBC/GBCI booth and touring local green projects.
Once you are caught up in the whirlwind of sessions, keynote speeches and activities, though, it can be easy to let some of the opportunities slip through your fingers. Here are a few practical tips for making sure you bring home all the valuable knowledge and connections you find in Philadelphia.
Attending Greenbuild for the first time? There's a page just for you on what to wear, what to bring and how to get to the convention center. (Hint: pack your reusable water bottle.)
At Greenbuild's numerous networking and special events, you'll have the chance to both catch up with old acquaintances in the industry and to forge new connections that can benefit your business.
Using the Greenbuild app, you can see who else is attending and send requests to other participants to meet in the Networking Lounge. Download the app from the Apple Store or the Google Play Store.
Pro tip: Ending the day with a small cascade of physical business cards or collateral from Expo Hall booths? Empty out your bag and snap photos of them before they get lost. Scan QR codes and bookmark the pages.
Let your wider network know where you are and what you're learning by posting about your experience, especially on LinkedIn. Share images of you and your colleagues at events, quote presenter insights, and capture your explorations of Philadelphia on Greenbuild tours. Don't forget to tag U.S. Green Building Council and use our event hashtag, #Greenbuild24.
Pro tip: Snap a selfie with your colleagues in front of the classic Greenbuild sign.

Education sessions and select keynote recordings will be available to attendees afterward. To view them, you can log in with your personalized event link and navigate to the session you want to see in the agenda.
Pro tip: Share takeaways with your managers and colleagues once you get back. Take photos of the most interesting slides during the sessions, so that you don't have to wait for full presentation links to share the updates you're most excited about.
Greenbuild offers many continuing education credits approved by GBCI, AIA, IDCEC and Phius. Sessions that qualify will be reported automatically to the relevant organization if you put your membership number in your registration account, but you may also self-report GBCI and AIA credits. Explore the details.
Haven't chosen all your sessions yet? View the session agenda and use the "Continuing Education Credits Offered" filter to see which ones will help you maintain your professional credential.
Pro tip: You can earn CE credits from Education Labs and sponsored sessions in the Expo Hall, too! Learn about a new technology and its application to your work. Education Lab descriptions are included in the session agenda.

If you've been inspired by the leaders you've met at Greenbuild to consider expanding your own scope for leadership and ability to make a difference, keep an eye out for the 2025 calls for volunteers to serve on a LEED committee or a local Market Leadership Advisory Board (MLAB). It's is a great way to get involved in the ongoing evolution of LEED and boost the market transformation of the area in which you live.
Pro tip: Begin now to review requirements and collect the info you'll need to apply, so that when calls open, you can quickly and easily submit your materials.
Full of ideas for how you could present case studies from your own business next year? It's not too early to think about it-Greenbuild solicits session proposals by February or March each year. View the 2024 session submittal guidelines to help you think about what's needed.
