Camden County Residents Encouraged to Monitor Potential Tropical Cyclone Four

Camden County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is closely monitoring the uncertain forecast and possible impacts of Potential Tropical Cyclone Four. Citizens are encouraged to stay informed by following the Camden County EMA Facebook page for updates. The storm is forecast to affect the region late Sunday night into Monday morning, with heavy rainfall being the primary threat. Residents should prepare now for tropical activity and rapidly changing conditions.

Residents are also encouraged to visit the National Hurricane Center at www.nhc.noaa.gov and the National Weather Service Office in Jacksonville at www.weather.gov/jax for reliable weather updates. Local residents are urged to sign up for the CodeRED Emergency Notification System at www.camdencountyga.gov/CodeRED or text "CamdenCodeRED" to 99411, as CodeRED provides direct emergency notifications from Camden County EMA to landlines, cell phones, and/or emails. TDD/TTY service is available.

In preparation of potential flooding, sandbag distribution is now available as follows:

  • Camden County Public Works Office: Unfilled sandbags available at 1004 Old Plantation Road in Woodbine from 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Self-service sand available at the Facilities Maintenance Building at 1144 Godley Avenue in Woodbine. Residents should bring their own shovels.
  • City of Kingsland: Sand available at 132 Royal Parkway. Residents should bring shovels and sandbags for this self-service site.
  • City of St. Marys: Sand and sandbags available for self-service at the Public Works Facility at 819 Point Peter Road in St. Marys from 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
  • City of Woodbine: Sand and a limited number of sandbags available at the Public Works Department at 1714 Bedell Avenue in Woodbine.

Camden County EMA will continue to monitor this storm and provide public communication. Local residents should continue to monitor the Camden County EMA Facebook page and the Camden County website.
