On behalf of the United States of America, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people of Peru on the occasion of 203 years since your Independence Day. This milestone is a testament to the enduring spirit and resilience of the Peruvian people.

As we celebrate this historic day, we reflect on the strong and enduring partnership between our two nations. Our countries have worked together to promote democracy, inclusive economic growth, the environment, human rights, and cultural exchange, fostering a relationship that benefits both our peoples. This is particularly true this year as Peru continues to display leadership in the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity and hosts the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum. Together we can achieve our shared goal of creating a brighter future for all our citizens by promoting stronger democratic governance and more sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
