Metropolitan Avenue Bridge Replacement Project Completed

The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has successfully completed the Metropolitan Avenue bridge replacement project at the I-635 interchange in Kansas City, Kansas. The upgraded bridge, along with modernized approach pavements, guardrails, and traffic signals, is now open to motorists and pedestrians, ensuring a smoother and safer travel experience for all.
Upcoming Closure for Storm Sewer Repairs
While the bridge replacement project has concluded, additional maintenance work is scheduled for the area. The northbound I-635 to Metropolitan Avenue entrance ramp will be closed from December 4 through December 12 for storm sewer repairs, weather allowing. During this time, motorists are encouraged to plan alternative routes. Detour signage will be in place to guide drivers around the closure.
