Most City of Detroit offices are closed on Thursday, Nov. 28 & Friday, Nov. 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday. However, certain vital City services will be provided.
REFUSE AND BULK COLLECTION
The Department of Public Works (DPW) will not collect trash, bulk items, recycling or yard waste on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28. Thursday's collection will take place on Friday, Nov. 29. Friday's collection will take place on Saturday, Nov. 30. Also, the DPW drop-off locations will be closed on Nov. 28, with regular hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. resuming on Friday, Nov. 29.
BUS SERVICE
The Detroit Department of Transportation will operate on a Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving Day for all regular routes at regular fares. For more information, please call DDOT's Customer Service Office at (313) 933-1300 or go to detroitmi.gov/ddot.

PARKING
The Detroit Municipal Parking Department (MPD) announced that residents and visitors can enjoy free metered street parking across the city on Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29, with parking enforcement suspended. Parking enforcement will occur on Saturday, Nov. 30.
Motorists should note that vehicles blocking driveways, crosswalks, fire hydrants or other critical access points or illegally parked will be ticketed and possibly towed.

DETROIT PEOPLE MOVER
The Detroit People Mover resumes daily operations at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27 with free fares - and 36 hours of continuous service until 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
Riders can stop by Broadway Station on Wednesday from 6 - 10 p.m. for a DJ listening session, and visit Grand Circus Park Station on Thursday for free hot cocoa and handwarmers between 7 - 10 a.m. All 13 DPM stations are open.

Although offices may be closed, many City services, such as tax and fee payments, permit
applications and obtaining DDOT passes, are available online at detroitmi.gov. Residents wishing to make a request for service, such as removal of illegal dumping, reporting a non-working streetlight, abandoned vehicle or other issues, are encouraged to use the Improve Detroit app.
