Search and Rescue Operation for Missing Crew from Tugboat OSHIO

1. The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) is coordinating a search and rescue operation with the Police Coast Guard (PCG) and the Singapore Civil Defence Force for a missing crew from a tugboat, OSHIO, that sank in the Eastern Anchorage, within Singapore's port limits, at about 2:15 pm today.

2. Two crew were reported to be onboard the tugboat at the time of incident. One 39-year-old male crew member who was earlier rescued by PCG was conveyed to the hospital where he subsequently passed on.

3. MPA has activated salvage divers to confirm the location of the sunken tug for salvage operations and is issuing navigational broadcasts for vessels to keep clear of the area. There is no oil pollution reported.
