RNO is committed to sustainability and making a positive impact on the community and environment. Here's how the airport is doing it this season:

"From Waste to Wonder" Art Exhibit

RNO's latest art exhibit, "From Waste to Wonder," transforms trash into treasures. With pieces crafted by students from the Coral Academy of Science and the talented artists of The Generator, these pieces are made from discarded materials collected from local lakes. This exhibit celebrates sustainability, highlighting the beauty in giving waste a second life. Don't miss it in the depARTures Gallery the next time you fly through RNO.

Back By Popular Demand: Wait & Win Giveaway

Heading to the airport to pick up family or friends this holiday season? RNO's Wait & Win campaign is back, offering you a chance to win flights just for parking in the Free Waiting Lot.

Here's how it works:

  • Park in the Free Waiting Lot, conveniently located just 4 minutes from the terminal.
  • Scan the QR code on the signs in the lot, fill out a quick survey and you'll be entered for a chance to win flights
  • Avoid curbside waiting. Once your loved ones are ready, they can give you a call to pick them up.

To keep things smooth and safe, RNO recommends giving passengers about 20 minutes to deplane, collect their bags and make their way to the curb.

Support the airport's efforts to keep RNO safe, accessible and efficient for everyone by using the Free Waiting Lot-and maybe you'll be one of our lucky holiday winners! The contest runs Nov. 14 through Dec. 31, 2024.

Parking Tips This Season

As the holiday season approaches, parking demand at RNO is expected to surge. Here are a few tips to make your airport experience smoother:

  • The busy travel season means the airport's parking lots might reach capacity. Check parking availability on the airport's website before making the choice to park: www.renoairport.com
  • Allow extra time to find a space, especially in overflow lots.
  • The drop-off and pick-up zones are better than ever - consider hitching a ride from a friend and avoid the parking hassle.
  • Traveling with a group? Drop the family curbside with your bags, then park in overflow for a stress-free experience.

TSA Holiday Travel Tips

TDid you know you can bring a whole turkey on your flight? That's right! The TSA has tips to keep your holiday travel smooth and stress-free:

  • Bring It On: Turkeys, pies and casseroles are good to go.
  • Leave It Behind: Liquids like cranberry sauce are a no-go in carry-on bags.

Real-ID Deadline:

Time is ticking! The REAL ID deadline is almost here, so don't wait to get yours. Beginning on May 7, 2025, standard state IDs won't fly for domestic air travel. Make sure you're ready to soar by checking your ID and visiting the REAL ID information page for details. Don't get grounded-get REAL.

Planning your holiday getaway? Check-out new and updated flights starting soon:

  • RNO to San Diego on Alaska Airlines: Starting Dec. 19 through Feb. 4, you can catch a daily flight to sunny San Diego.
  • RNO to New York on JetBlue: Red-eye flights are back. JetBlue launches daily flights to New York City from Dec. 19 - Jan. 6, and return from Feb. 13 to Mar. 29.
  • RNO to Atlanta on Delta: The flight time shifts to afternoons five times a week from Dec. 19 - Mar. 8. Now you can enjoy a leisurely morning before takeoff.
