MPD Investigating Southeast Homicide

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a homicide in Southeast.

On Friday, November 9, 2024, at approximately 6:56 a.m., Seventh District officers responded to the 2600 block of Dunbar Road, Southeast, for report of the discovery of human remains. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and confirmed the victim was deceased.

The decedent was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where the cause of death was determined to be gunshot wounds, and the manner of death was ruled homicide.

The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Alexander Pavon-Rios of Northwest, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.
