City of York Hosts Narcan Distribution on Tuesday, August 27th at York City Hall

The City of York Bureau of Health, York/Adams Drug and Alcohol Commission, and York Opioid Collaborative have been working together to distribute Narcan the 4th Tuesday of each month. Narcan can save the life of someone suffering an overdose from opioids.

On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, the monthly Narcan distribution event will continue to take place at City Hall (101 S George St.). Individuals can pick up Narcan (outside and in front of City Hall) and receive a brief training on how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose.

It is highly recommended to add Narcan to first aid kits. An individual suffering from an overdose is a medical emergency, and it is best to be prepared for these types of emergencies. Bystanders are often the first to be in the presence or witness an individual experiencing an overdose, which is why it is important to have Narcan easily accessible. Anyone who is prescribed an opioid medication is at risk for overdose.
