Protect your data with Daily Backups

We're thrilled to announce that daily backups have officially moved from early availability to general availability, making them available to all our customers and across nearly all of our data centers! This is a major milestone for us, and we're thrilled to expand access to this powerful feature.

For those who missed our early availability announcement, here's a quick refresher on daily backups:

• Daily Backups: Back up your Droplets every day to get the maximum protection for your critical workloads. DigitalOcean will automatically retain the most recent seven backup copies for you. We also offer weekly Droplet backups that are retained for four weeks.
• Fast backup and recovery powered by modern storage infrastructure: Experience up to 6.5x faster backups* via our new backup storage infrastructure that leverages incremental backup technology to back up only data that has changed.

• Configurable backup windows: Pick any four-hour window for your backups to be taken. You can recover your Droplet from your backup copy, along with any files, applications, or databases running on top of it.

Businesses today generate a huge volume of data at incredible velocity making backups a crucial element of every business' data protection strategy. With daily backups now available, DigitalOcean has you covered so you can:

• Sync your data protection with business growth by using flexible, daily backups to keep up with evolving transactions and expanding information.
• Mitigate the impact of security breaches and quickly recover from data loss by keeping the latest backups readily available, addressing the top concern of 22% of SMBs.
• Prevent disruptions from accidental deletions and user errors.
• Simplify compliance with regulatory data protection requirements.
• Protect against accidental data loss as your applications and tech stack evolve rapidly to safeguard innovation.

While daily backups are now live in all data centers except one, we want to ensure you're fully informed:

• Availability: The feature is available in all data centers with the exception of BLR1. For more up to date information, check out our availability matrix for backups.
• Upcoming Access: We're working hard to bring the feature to the remaining data center, BLR1, and expect to have it made available in the coming weeks. We appreciate your patience as we complete this rollout.
• For Affected Users: If you're in BLR1, please reach out to our support team for any interim solutions or assistance.

Here's how you can start using daily backups:

• Creating a new Droplet? Backups are available for you to enable during your Droplet creation. Set your four hour time window to help ensure there are no disruptions during your most critical times.

• Have an existing Droplet you're looking to enroll in daily backups? It's just as easy to enable your existing Droplets with daily backups! Either select a Droplet from your fleet to manage and update your backup settings, or head over to the 'Backups and Snapshots' section to setup automated backups.

• Looking for your backups? You can find all of your backups under "Backups & Snapshots," where you can find a list of all of your Droplets enabled with backups, and a dropdown list of all backups for each Droplet.

And remember-just like all of our other features-daily backups can be created and managed via the Cloud Console, CLI, or API.
