NOVEMBER 27, 2024 -The UTSA Roadrunner Pantry and Whataburger Resource Room are a vital resource for students, especially during the holidays when food insecurity can hit hardest. This season, the pantries are encouraging donations to help support students and meet their growing needs. Meals that are shelf-stable and easy to prepare are perfect for students on the go or those hesitant to cook. Items such as microwavable meals are especially in demand, including single-serving portions of macaroni and cheese, soups, ravioli, SpaghettiOs and Cup Noodles.
For an even easier way to donate, visit the Roadrunner Pantry's Amazon Wish List, where you can add food and other essentials to your cart the next time you shop. It's a simple, convenient way to support students and help stock the shelves.
Donations can be dropped off at the Whataburger Resource Room in the Student Union (SU 1.04.06) on the Main Campus. Bins are conveniently located in the hallway leading to the pantry near the UPS Store. For those near the Downtown Campus, items can be brought to the Roadrunner Pantry (DB 1.306).
Thanksgiving week brings adjusted hours to accommodate the holiday. Today, November 27, the Whataburger Resource Room on the Main Campus will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Roadrunner Pantry on the Downtown Campus will be open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Both locations will be closed from Thursday, November 28 to Sunday, December 1, resuming normal operations on Monday, December 2.
For emergencies, kits will be available at residential halls and police dispatch at both campuses.
