ASRM members and staff attended the June 12 Senate floor hearing of the IVF for All Act, an omnibus package of bills that would increase access to IVF for all Americans. While we are disappointed that a filibuster prevented the bill package from passing, we are proud of our tireless advocates who came to DC and contacted their representatives to support the cause. ASRM thanks Sens. Tammy Duckworth, Patty Murray, and Cory Booker for introducing this bill package, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer for bringing it to the Senate floor. Read a statement from Chief Advocacy and Policy Officer Sean Tipton on the bill and its failure to pass here.

ASRM is proud to support the HOPE with Fertility Services Act (HR 8821), a bipartisan bill that will mandate coverage for fertility treatments under healthcare plans that provide obstetrical coverage. Urge your representatives to VOTE YES on the billusing our Action Alert system.Read our full press release here.

ASRM CEO Dr. Jared Robins, President Dr. Paula Amato, and delegates Dr. Ginny Ryan, Dr. Albert Hsu, and Dr. Rachel Whynott attended the American Medical Association's House of Delegates meeting to advocate for improved access to care alongside our membership. Their efforts saw the passage of a resolution to oppose any civil or criminal legislation, ballot measures, or court rulings that would equate gametes or embryos with children, or that would otherwise criminalize, restrict or interfere with evidence-based ART care. See a photo from the event here.
