Linn County IT Systems Fully Restored After Global CrowdStrike Outage

Linn County's IT systems have been fully restored and public services have resumed as normal following a global technology outage on July 19 caused by an automatic software update from CrowdStrike, which the County uses for malware and virus protection. IT staff are restoring a few individual laptop and desktop computers this week.

"The Board of Supervisors is thankful to our IT staff who began working right away in response to the outage," Linn County Supervisor Ben Rogers said. "They had our most critical and public-facing services operational within just a few hours on Friday. We appreciate their quick action and the seriousness with which they approached this global issue. We also thank the public for their patience during the outage."
