Noticing to Canada
Due to a postal worker strike in Canada, bankruptcy noticing has been impacted. The Bankruptcy Noticing Center has attempted delivery but all notices are being held at the Canada/U.S. border and will not be delivered until the postal strike ends. Accordingly, Canadian recipients have not received court-issued notices since November 15, 2024, nor have Canadian recipients received notices electronically as electronic noticing is unavailable to international recipients.
Counsel should be aware if any opposing party or entity on the creditor matrix in their cases is from Canada so that accurate representations of service of process are made, particularly regarding negative noticing made pursuant to General Order 2022-1.
