San Francisco - Caltrans is scheduling a full weekend closure of the Central freeway connector ramp from northbound US-101 to northbound US-101 Central Freeway beginning Friday, October 4, 10:00 pm until Monday, October 7, at 5:00 AM. The full weekend closure will allow crews to make emergency repairs to the freeway barrier rails. All lanes of the connector ramp will be closed while the work is in progress. The emergency repairs are necessary to replace damaged concrete barrier and tubular railing on connectors due to vehicle collisions over the years. The repairs will include removing and rebuilding sections of the barrier structures. During the closure, motorists may experience significant traffic delays. Motorist should use an alternate route, listed below.
These repairs are the first of a series of repairs requiring lane closures on the Central freeway. Caltrans will keep the public apprised of all future scheduled closures. Read more about current and future San Francisco County freeway repairs and repair work schedules at www.sfhighwayprojects.com.
