Dechert Advises Bain Capital on Strategic Growth Investment in Archwest Capital

Dechert has advised Bain Capital (Bain), a leading global private multi-asset alternative investment firm, on its strategic growth investment in Archwest Capital (Archwest), a national residential lender specializing in non-owner-occupied residential real estate loan solutions.

Bain and its affiliates will acquire a controlling stake in Archwest, with management, led by Chief Executive Officer Shawn Miller, retaining a significant minority stake. The investment is expected to further enhance Archwest's innovative product offerings and enhance value to its borrowers and broker partners.

Archwest leverages its national reach and deep partnerships with top housing developers and financial institutions to offer innovative business purpose financing for residential, multifamily, mixed-use, and commercial properties. Their diverse lending products-ranging from fix and flip to bridge, construction, rental, and multifamily loans-address a wide array of property needs, allowing borrowers to swiftly seize opportunities. Notably, Archwest has secured additional capital to acquire loans originated by its platform. Since 2022, the company has reportedly originated over $700 million in business purpose assets across nearly 1,200 units nationwide.

The Dechert team that advised Bain includes corporate partner Ken Young, counsel Ross MacConnell and associates Matthew Andonian, Sean Herron, Andrew Darnell, Stephen de Simone and Bryce Small; global finance partner Kenneth Hackman, counsel Jonathan Gaynor and associates Marsha Jobaida, Turner Smith and Jeremy Arce; financial services associate Joshua Anifowoshe; and global tax partner David Passey and associates Harris Cornell and Lixun Chen.
