Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) is proud to announce Judson Reid as the new critical issue lead for extension programming in agriculture and food systems, effective October 1. This two-year appointment reflects CCE's commitment to tackling the pressing challenges in agricultural production.
As critical issue lead, Reid will work closely with other key programs to bolster Extension's statewide initiatives, providing essential leadership and connecting campus resources with CCE educators and partners. Additionally, Reid will remain involved with CCE program work teams and department Extension leaders, overseeing critical program planning, needs assessments, evaluation strategies, and Federal Capacity Fund proposals. Reid will continue serving as a senior extension associate and vegetable specialist with the Cornell Vegetable Program while assuming this new statewide leadership role.
With over twenty years of experience in agricultural research and outreach, Reid has significantly advanced vegetable production, local food systems, and urban agriculture. His contributions have positively impacted residents across New York state and beyond.
"We are excited to have Jud Reid step into this crucial role," said Andy Turner, Director of Cornell Cooperative Extension. "His expertise and commitment will greatly enhance our initiatives, empowering us to serve our communities better and create a lasting impact."
