HARRISBURG, Pa. - After Pennsylvania Republicans failed to take control of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund and its grassroots network, Moms Demand Action, and Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund released the following statements:

"Pennsylvania voters understand there's still more work to do to prevent gun violence, which is why they just re-elected a gun sense majority to the statehouse," said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. "Everytown is eager to pick up where we left off, and continue working with our legislative allies to keep Pennsylvanians safe."

"Maintaining our gun sense majority in the Pennsylvania House was essential for the growth of our movement," said Angela Ferrell-Zabala, executive director of Moms Demand Action. "Our volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure their communities voted for gun safety, and the results show that voters want more lifesaving progress."

"Last legislative session, our gun sense majority in the Pennsylvania House passed lifesaving gun safety measures - and after today, we are sending them back to Harrisburg to finish the job," said Joyce Pickles, a volunteer with the Pennsylvania chapter of Moms Demand Action. "We're excited to continue working with our gun sense champions to fight for the lifesaving measures that we deserve in the Commonwealth."

Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund invested more than $6.1 million in Pennsylvania for the 2024 elections, launching digital ads and direct mailers that ran across targeted federal races and state legislative battleground districts and focused on highlighting Pennsylvania MAGA Republicans' opposition to common-sense gun safety laws and the extreme guns everywhere agenda they would push in Harrisburg.

Earlier this year, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund and Victory Fund announced a $45 million major electoral program, which included launching a new grassroots voter contact program to help elect gun sense candidates and defeat gun extremists up and down the ballot in key swing districts and states. These efforts focused on young voters on college campuses, voters of color, and suburban women in Arizona, California, Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. As part of the electoral program, Everytown hired and deployed 36 field organizers across the ten states. In Philadelphia, Detroit, and Tempe, Everytown opened field offices to support overall efforts.

Further, Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund and Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund investments included a record $7.5 million to train and elect Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action volunteers, including many running in key races across the country. Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund and Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund also invested nearly $9 million to support state legislative candidates across Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania, along with investments in other targeted down ballot races.
