Dave Fevold Scholarship Winners for 2024

August 6, 2024 (DES MOINES, Iowa) - Landus announced four recipients of its one-year, $1,000 Dave Fevold Memorial Scholarship for high school seniors and college students pursuing education in the custom application area.

"Dave fought a courageous battle against cancer and this scholarship is a way for us to honor his memory and dedication to the application profession. It is a privilege for Landus to provide a scholarship in Dave's name to encourage others to pursue a career in Custom Application, which was such a passion of his." - The family of Dave Fevold

The Dave Fevold Memorial Scholarship winners were selected by a committee that included representatives from Dave's family. The 2024 winners include:

• Nathan Lynch, son of Wayne and Julie Lynch of Boone, IA; Field of study: Agriculture Business at Des Moines Area Community College

• Emma Ott, daughter of Josh and Beth Ott of Dumont, IA: Field of study: Agricultural Studies at Iowa State University

• Madelyn VanSickle, daughter of Ben and Katie VanSickle of Dayton, IA; Field of study: Agriculture Education & Agricultural Studies at Iowa State University

• Jillian Woodruff, daughter of Jason and Tiffany Woodruff of Moorland, IA; Field of study: Ag Business/Marketing at Iowa Central Community College

About the scholarship:

• Applicant must be a high school senior graduating in the spring of the 2023/24 school year OR currently attending an accredited post-secondary school, pursuing a career in agriculture. Interest in Custom Application is preferred.

• Applicant must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale.

• Applicant must reside within the Landus trade territory.

• Preference will be given to those who applicant and/or parent (guardian) are a voting member (Class A) in good standing of Landus, account number required.

• Dependents of directors and officers of Landus are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
