Experience world-class performances by the next generation of performing and media artists at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM)! The college's fall 2024 schedule of major events is now available; tickets are on sale now through the CCM Box Office.

From exhilarating concerts to breathtaking theatre, CCM offers a variety of ticketed and free performances for audiences to enjoy. Fall season highlights are below; view the full performance schedule by month at ccm.uc.edu/onstage.

Gustav Mahler's colossal "Resurrection Symphony" explores themes of life and death, tragedy and triumph. This epic work creates a symphonic universe for the audience - from the tragic opening march, through pastoral dances and gentle songs to a final tableau of trumpet calls, percussive thunderbolts and the hymn of resurrection.

Enjoy the hijinks both on and off stage as the reality show's cast and crew try to complete the making of La Finta Giardiniera. Sung in Italian with English subtitles.

"The President's Own" United States Marine Band
The Marine Band is America's oldest continuously active professional musical organization. Founded in 1798, the band has performed for every U.S. President since John Adams. Known as "The President's Own" since the days of Thomas Jefferson, the Marine Band's primary mission is to provide music for the President of the United States and the Commandant of the Marine Corps. In the style of the band's 17th Director John Philip Sousa, who initiated the concert tour tradition in 1891, Marine Band Director Lt. Col. Ryan Nowlin has chosen a diverse mix of programs, from traditional band repertoire and marches to instrumental solos. This concert is part of the 2024 United States Marine Band National Tour from Coast to Coast and is supported by University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

IN TUNE WITH DEMENTIA: ENRICHING LIVES THROUGH MUSIC, MOVEMENT AND IMPROVISATION
Jude Jones, M. Ed, MT-BC (Board Certified Music Therapist)
This presentation will provide an overview of the universal power of music and the rationale for using this art form in working with clients with dementia from various cultural backgrounds. Creative singing, movement and improvisation interventions for engaging and empowering clients with dementia will be discussed and demonstrated with an emphasis on interactive involvement for participants attending the session. The Power of music lecture as it relates to helping others with dementia will briefly discuss how: 1) Music awakens our memories and emotions, 2) Music makes us move, 3) Music provides opportunities for social interaction, 4) Music reduces anxiety, 5) Music improves cognition. The Creative Singing portion of the session will address working with non-lexical vocals, call-and response methods in singing, songwriting and other creative vocal work ideas to engage folks with dementia in music. The Creative movement section of the session will demonstrate simple easy memorable original movement ideas that can be incorporated into movement routines with emphasis of teaching others how to choreograph their own movement routines for their clients. The Improvisational part of the session will address the use of improvisational games, story weaving and music listening exercises as treatment tools for helping folks with dementia.

UC student ticket options

Current UC students can purchase up to two tickets for each CCM OnStage concert and show at the discounted rate of just $10 per ticket; the discounted rate for current CCM students is $5 per ticket. Learn more.

Student discounts do not apply to CCM development fundraising events.

Directions and parking

CCM is located on the campus of the University of Cincinnati. For detailed driving directions, visit ccm.uc.edu/directions.

Parking is available in UC's CCM Garage (located at the base of Corry Boulevard off Jefferson Avenue) and additional garages throughout the UC campus. Effective July 1, 2023, all University of Cincinnati Parking Services locations are cashless. Pay for parking securely with your credit/debit card. All major credit cards accepted.

CCM OnStage patrons can add pre-paid parking to their checkout carts when purchasing tickets. Pre-paid parking is date/performance specific. CCM Garage parking rates for a performance or special event is usually available for $10-15. Learn more about parking at UC's CCM Garage.
