WSU display installed at Seattle airport for holiday travel

Travelers passing through Concourse C at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport will get a boost of Cougar spirit this holiday season.

A four-foot-tall Cougar head display was unveiled at the airport Thursday. The logo is equipped with a QR code that directs visitors to go.wsu.edu, the landing page for Here We Go, WSU's first brand marketing campaign in nearly two decades.

"WSU is Washington's university, and this display is a chance to remind Washingtonians of that," said Phil Weiler, vice president for marketing and communications. "It also gives alumni, students, and faculty a fun way to celebrate their Cougar pride while traveling through the Seattle airport."

The campaign emphasizes WSU's role as a leader among public universities and how the university's education and research benefits Washington communities and the world.

SeaTac's Concourse C is where many in-stateflights board and disembark, providing a prime location for passengers to snap selfies with the giant logo during their holiday travels. Visitors are being encouraged to use #GoCougs when posting their photos.

The installation will be in place until Jan. 14.
