On August 2, 2024, at approximately 4:19 p.m., State Police were called to Interstate 81 in the town of Lisle for a report of a one-car crash.

When Troopers arrived, a 2007 Subaru Outback was observed crashed into a tree.

An investigation determined that the driver and sole occupant, identified as Kenneth J. Zuidema, 67, of Emmaus, PA, was traveling on Interstate 81 when he left the roadway and struck a tree.

Zuidema died at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
