Flood Issues Follow-Up to Report Highlighting Northampton County Election Issues

Aug. 05, 2024

HARRISBURG -- Rep. Ann Flood (R-Northampton) today released a detailed follow-up report aimed at addressing significant concerns surrounding the November 2023 election in Northampton County.

During the 2023 Municipal Election, a significant and substantial flaw occurred with the voting machines in Northampton County, resulting not only in confusion and inconvenience for the day, but also uncertainty and mistrust in the electoral process thereafter.

This report is a follow-up to the December 2023 report and includes:

• Background on the issues in Northampton County.
• Information from informal examinations into the problems.
• Examination takeaways.
• Election administration in Pennsylvania status update.

"As we embark on an upcoming major election cycle, now more than ever we must ensure the security and integrity of our elections and voters' trust and confidence in the outcome," said Flood. "I will continue to issue election reports regularly to provide transparency, as well as keep a watchful eye on our election processes across Pennsylvania and make sure we have a trustworthy system so residents know their vote counts!"

Flood expressed concern that while improvements have been implemented at all levels of government, systemic issues may persist and must be proactively monitored and resolved, both in Northampton County and across the Commonwealth.

The comprehensive report titled "Northampton County Elections Report: Part II" is now available on Flood's official website, RepAnnFlood.com.
