Office of Title IX and Institutional Equity seeks case advisors

The Office of Title IX and Institutional Equity is seeking faculty and staff interested in becoming advisors for university-based investigations under Policy 1060 (Non-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment) and Policy 1065 (Sexual Harassment, Sexual Misconduct, Dating Violence, Domestic Violence, and Stalking). As part of an ongoing commitment to a safe and inclusive campus environment, the office is seeking dedicated individuals who are willing to volunteer their time to provide support and guidance during these critical investigations.

Role of Advisors

Advisors play a crucial role in helping parties navigate the process, ensuring that all perspectives are considered and that policies are applied fairly. Participant's involvement will contribute significantly to maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the university's response to such cases. During Policy 1065 investigations, advisors will also ask adversarial questions during a live hearing.

Requirements

Ability to maintain confidentiality, understand policy, help explain the process to a party, help a party prepare questions for the hearing and ask questions at the hearing.

Training Information

A training session will be held in November 2024 to equip advisors with the necessary knowledge and skills. Details regarding the date and format of the training will be shared soon.
