From the Desk of President Rich Santa: CRWG CPC Target Implementation Update

Sep 4, 2024

Brothers and Sisters,

First, on behalf of the National Executive Board (NEB) thank you to all the aviation safety professionals that kept the National Airspace System safe and moving during this past Labor Day holiday weekend!

This week, the National Executive Board will meet in Omaha, Neb. Our five new regional vice presidents will start their terms, adding their experience and vision for the future of our Union to the board.

NATCA has also started the process for the Collaborative Resource Workgroup (CRWG) implementation. NATCA and the FAA kicked off the workgroup established to collaboratively address implementation of the 2023 CRWG CPC Targets. NATCA and the FAA are currently using the 2014 "interim" CRWG targets for placement and transfer purposes.

The workgroup will review the current NCEPT SOP, NCEPT MOU, Priority Placement Tool, Staffing Workbook and all other ATC staffing related data and make recommendations for changes to the NCEPT SOP, NCEPT MOU, staggered implementation or other processes in order to meet the goal of implementing the updated CRWG targets in a manner that will prioritize staffing in our most critically staffed facilities, while balancing the need to continue to approve employee requested reassignments and continue to contribute to increasing national CPC staffing numbers.

As this process moves forward, we will provide additional updates.

In Solidarity,

Rich Santa, NATCA President
