CEI, Minister Hasani: Comprehensive regional cooperation is crucial for the WB in their path to EU membership

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Igli Hasani has participated in an informal meeting with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Central European Initiative (CEI), which was held in New York, USA.

Minister Hasani praised the work done so far by the Moldavian CEI Presidency, as he reiterated Albania's support towards the efforts of the Presidency for regional cooperation and the European integration process.

"We are aware that comprehensive regional cooperation is an important factor for the Western Balkan partners in their path to EU membership, and not a substitute of the membership. The continuous support of the EU members within the Central European Initiative remains essential for our progress towards the path of European integration", Minister Hasani stated.

In 2024, Albania will preside the Central European Initiative (CEI).
