(MPI) - The Vietnam-China business forum was held in Hanoi on October 13 under the co-organisation of Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) and Chinese Ministry of Commerce, drawing the participation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chinese Premier Li Qiang, and MPI Minister Nguyen Chi Dung.

Speaking at the event, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung said that Vietnam and China are neighboring countries with special and comprehensive partnership at all areas, in which economic, trade and investment cooperation are key pillars of the bilateral relationship.
Vietnam has become China' leading partner in the ASEAN, and China is Vietnam's largest trading partner. The minister described thriving economic development as an example in the cooperation potential between the two countries.
According the Minister Dung, the business forum holds significant meaning in connecting and enhancing the comprehensive cooperative relationship between the two countries, as well as realising the common perceptions reached by the two Parties and nations and fostering the economic, trade and investment cooperation, thus leveraging the economic collaboration.
Under the theme "Strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation, shaping the future together", the forum provided chances for both sides to discuss four main sectors, including infrastructure development and connectivity, particularly railways, green energy, digital economy, and finance-banking sector. These were the areas that meet the two countries' development orientations and global trend, he said.
The minister also expressed his belief that the forum will open up more opportunities for cooperation, helping the two enterprises fully maximise each other's potential and strengths to develop together.
Both Chinese and Vietnamese enterprises hailed the forum as a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences and proposed detailed recommendations. They put emphasis on the special collaboration between the two countries, expressing their hope that the two Governments will continue supporting and creating all possible conditions for them to do business, thus contributing to boosting economic, trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and China.

Addressing the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that Vietnam and China are enjoying fruitful cooperative relationship with increasing mutual trust, and the sides are providing optimal condition for economic, investment, trade and business activities.
However, the economic partnership is still not commensurate with the strong political and social relationship of the two countries, he added, especially as they have advantages to support and complement each other in many fields.
He called on the two Governments promote institutional connection, strategic infrastructure linkage, smart governance and technology transfer, human resource training, especially high-quality ones, capital investment with a focus on emerging industries, payment and supply chains.
The Vietnamese Prime Minister suggested both Chinese and Vietnamese enterprises continue contributing to deepening the bilateral relationship in a closer, more united, trust and effective manner; resolving and overcoming challenges, promoting growth momentum, and supporting the two governments in achieving the socio-economic goals.
For his part, Premier Li Qiang described economic and trade cooperation as a highlight and driving force of the bilateral ties. China always sticks steadfast to economic cooperation with Vietnam, he added, noting that there remains ample room for further growth in the economic and trade ties between the sides.
The Chinese Premier asked both sides continue enhancing development strategy connectivity, effectively implementing the cooperation plan connecting the "Two Corridors, One Belt" Framework with the "Belt and Road" Initiative, promoting cross-border economic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, thus constantly consolidating and complementing each other's strengths and competitiveness in the global supply chain. He also called for continued investment in new fields such as wind power, solar power and electric vehicles.
Premier Li Qiang emphasised the special relationship between Vietnam and China, which can not be found in other relations. He expressed his belief economic and trade ties will achieve greater success in the near future, urging both sides seize opportunities to do business, to promote sincerity, solidarity and persistent cooperation to bringing mutual benefits, prosperity and win-win cooperation.
