Medline hosts pressure injury prevention education session at WOCNext® 2024

In early 2024, Medline introduced OptiView, a first-of-its-kind transparent wound dressing to aid in pressure injury prevention. OptiView features an innovative clear design that allows caregivers to quickly and easily inspect, monitor and blanch skin with the dressing in place. On the heels of its launch, Medline recently partnered with clinicians to continue bringing pressure injury prevention to the forefront of industry conversation at the WOCNext® 2024 event.

Medline hosted a panel discussion at the event, which serves as a crucial forum for learning and networking in the wound care sector. The panelists consisted of three highly regarded WOC nurses with over 50 years of WOC nursing experience combined from organizations around the country. Each of these professionals highlighted valuable insight and practical experiences from their approach to pressure injury prevention and the use of OptiView across diverse clinical settings and patient populations.

Barbra Moens, DNP, RN, CWON Chicago-based - Discussed her trial experience with the innovative product OptiView, emphasizing strategies for obtaining approval for its purchase within a health system or facility.

Amy Ehrlich, BSN, RN, CWOCN, Methodist Healthcare System - After implementing OptiView dressings within her facility, she began exploring its additional capabilities, subsequently presenting a poster at SAWC Spring 2024 on the application of OptiView in treating DTPI. Learn more here

Since the launch of OptiView, facilities have seen positive outcomes as well as less product used per patient. This panelist breakfast event showcased three perspectives on different use cases of how and why this product is changing the skin health game.
