Paint a Plow Program Opens for Area Students and Organizations

While winter weather is not on the minds of many this time of the year, the Department of Public Works never stops planning for it.

The department's annual Paint a Plow Program is kicking off again to help educate residents of all ages about the best practices drivers and pedestrians should follow when encountering snowplows and driving on City streets

The Paint a Plow Program is open to Peoria Public Schools students and area organizations. The art-covered snowplow blades will be mounted on plow trucks and used to fight snow throughout the winter.

Public Works is currently accepting applications for the Paint a Plow Program. Those interested in participating should complete an application and participation waiver. Applications and waivers can be found at Paint a Plow.

Applications will be accepted until Friday, Sept. 13. Applicants will be selected, and plows will be delivered between Sept. 16, and Oct. 11.
