Williston State College Foundation Receives $20,000 Grant from Pembina Pipeline Corporation for Healthcare Training Facility

WILLISTON, N.D. - The Williston State College Foundation is pleased to announce it has received a generous $20,000 grant from Pembina Pipeline Corporation to support the new Healthcare Training Facility at Williston State College (WSC). This funding will help address the urgent need for healthcare professionals in western North Dakota and northeastern Montana, where local communities are facing critical shortages in healthcare services.

"We are incredibly excited about this grant from Pembina Pipeline Corporation," said Hunter Berg, Executive Director of the WSC Foundation. "Their support is a major boost to our efforts in creating opportunities for healthcare education that will positively impact the lives of countless individuals in our region. This project is a game-changer for the future of healthcare in the Williston Basin."

The new $36.6 million facility will offer programs in fields such as Certified Medical Assistant, Paramedic, and Behavioral Health. By providing state-of-the-art training right here in Williston, the facility will empower students to pursue rewarding careers locally, ensuring that the community has the skilled professionals it needs. The U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration has designated the region as a Healthcare Professional Shortage Area, further underscoring the importance of this facility.

"This project is more than just a building; it's a vital investment in the health and future of our region," said Dr. Bernell Hirning, President of WSC. "With the support of partners like Pembina, we are positioning Williston to be a regional leader in healthcare education and workforce development."
