UToledo Tradition: Art on the Mall Scheduled July 28

Art on the Mall, the annual Toledo tradition for artists and patrons hosted each year by The University of Toledo Alumni Association, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 28.

Presented by Medical Mutual, Art on the Mall will spotlight more than 100 artists from around the country and artwork that includes acrylic, glass, pen and ink, oil, mixed media, metals, photography, ceramics and jewelry for viewing and purchase with either cash or credit card directly at an artist's booth.

The free, public event is at Centennial Mall on The University of Toledo's Main Campus. Complimentary parking is available in lots 1N, 1S, 2, 10 and 13. A golf cart shuttle service will be available to transport guests and their packages to and from their vehicles.

"I look forward to this event every year," said William Pierce, UToledo associate vice president of alumni engagement and annual giving and executive director of the UToledo Alumni Association. "But this year I am especially excited to partner with presenting sponsor Medical Mutual to take this highly anticipated community event to the next level. Medical Mutual will have a tent on-site offering various activities, and I encourage everyone to check it out."

Art on the Mall will offer activities and entertainment throughout the day, including a young artist area for children and live music, as well as a variety of festival food.

Representatives from Stamps School of Art and Design at the University of Michigan will jury the artists' work. Prizes will be given to the top artists, and UToledo's Best of Show award will be presented to an artist who is affiliated with the University.

"Our number of participating artists is back to what we had before the COVID-19 pandemic," Pierce said. "We have had to modify the setup in Centennial Mall and are running out of room so we're continuing to grow across from Memorial Fieldhouse and look to expand that area going forward. We're proud to continue the tradition of hosting this show and we look forward to our best show yet."

Art on the Mall is hosted each year by The University of Toledo Alumni Association, and is supported for 2024 by The Toledo Lucas Count Port Authority, Lexus of Toledo, Mail It, Meredith Party Rentals, 13abc, iHeartRadio, SIP Coffee, Dominos Pizza, Jersey Mikes and CGS Imaging.
