WATCH: New Video Holds Kelly Ayotte Accountable for "Shaping Far-Right Supreme Court" as "Sherpa" for Neil Gorsuch

A new video from the New Hampshire Democratic Party holds former U.S. Senator and Republican candidate for governor Kelly Ayotte "accountable for her work shaping the modern conservative majority on the U.S. Supreme Court," after her work as Neil Gorsuch's "sherpa," a role in which "she was responsible for guiding him through the confirmation process, including preparing him for meetings with senators and helping to strategize the overall confirmation approach," the Granite Post reports.

Watch the video here:

As the Granite Post reports, Gorsuch has "been involved in several key conservative rulings," including the Dobbs decision in 2022, "which overturned Roe v. Wade and eliminated the federal constitutional right to an abortion - an opinion he approved in just 10 minutes."

After losing her reelection campaign in 2016, Ayotte was "appointed as the lead for [Gorsuch's] confirmation," a role she has said she was "honored" to play, and applauded Gorsuch's eventual confirmation, saying she was "very pleased" with the outcome.

Ayotte has a long and dangerous track record of voting against Granite Staters' reproductive rights. In the U.S. Senate, Ayotte led the charge for a national abortion ban and called for the overturning of Roe v. Wade, voted repeatedly to defund Planned Parenthood, and worked to make it harder and more expensivefor women to fill birth control prescriptions.

"No matter how hard she tries, Kelly Ayotte can't run from her extreme record - or her ties to Neil Gorsuch and the overturning of Roe v. Wade," said DGA States Press Secretary Emma O'Brien. "Granite Staters know that Kelly Ayotte's legacy is intertwined with this extreme court's legacy, that in part because of her work, millions of women no longer have access to the reproductive health care they need - and that they certainly cannot trust Kelly Ayotte to protect their freedoms from New Hampshire's corner office."
