“We have taken revolutionary steps in tourism”

Speaking at the opening ceremony of a hotel in the Tersane Istanbul project site, President Erdoğan said: "During our governments, we have considered tourism to be a strategic area and taken revolutionary steps. In line with our goal to spread tourism across 12 months, we have carried out visionary works not only in coastal tourism but also in such critical fields as history, faith, culture, nature, health and gastronomy."

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the opening ceremony of Rixos Tersane Istanbul.

Stressing that they have considered tourism to be a strategic area and have accordingly taken revolutionary steps during their governments, President Erdoğan said: "In line with our goal to spread tourism across 12 months, we have carried out visionary works not only in coastal tourism but also in such critical fields as history, faith, culture, nature, health and gastronomy. We have unearthed our untapped cultural heritage all over the Anatolian lands, which had served as a cradle of various civilizations. I would like to state with great pride that the definition of 'smokeless industry' used for tourism has gained its true meaning during our tenure for the first time."
