Tallahassee, Fla., August 21, 2024 - Today, the State Board of Education met for the August Board Meeting to implement rules related to accountability for Voluntary Prekindergarten Programs (VPK), the new School Readiness Plus program and created a new Florida Seal of Fine Arts program. Commissioner Diaz gave remarks highlighting the Florida Department of Education's success with teacher vacancies declining by 13.3% since last year and average vacancies per school dropping to 1.11.
