Honoring the Anniversary of September 11

Monday, September 11, is Patriot Day and a National Day of Service and Remembrance in the United States as we commemorate the 23rd anniversary of September 11, 2001.

September 11, 2001, was a loss felt worldwide. When I reflect on the anniversary of 9/11 each year, I'm reminded of how our communities were united in the aftermath of this tragedy. We put aside our divisions and united in caring for one another, supporting one another, and projecting hope.

Today and every day, we remember those who lost their lives, thank the brave first responders who put their lives on the line, and honor the sacrifices that have been made in the years since to protect our freedoms.

As a U.S. Navy Veteran, I am proud to be the Executive Sponsor of our Veterans' Employee Resource Group (VALOR ERG) at Commvault. Each year we honor the anniversary of 9/11 with our annual Commvault Climbs Challenge - an initiative that challenges our Vaulters to climb as many as 104 flights of stairs to honor the brave firefighters and first responders who climbed the stairs of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center to save the lives of others. When I see the photos and videos of Vaulters honoring these heroes, I'm incredibly moved by the support across our company as we care for each other and honor our communities.

The anniversary of 9/11 is a day to hold your loved ones close, reflect on the bravery of the first responders, honor the lives lost and forever changed that day, and thank those who have volunteered to serve their country in response to tragedy. I encourage you to take time today to do just that.
